On show this weekend are a couple of extremely rare Victorian display cases with strikingly coloured Quetzal (Pharomachrus mocinno), Cotinga and hummingbirds, ascribed to Rowland Ward of Piccadilly Circus (1848-1913) and dating from the final quarter of the 19th century. H.83 x W.61 x D.18 cm

During this Art & Antiques Weekend Zebregs&Röell Fine Art and Antiques will open its doors for the first time. In our shop on the corner of the Keizersgracht and the Nieuwe Spiegelstraat you’ll encounter a magnificent collection of art and antiques from the exciting age of discovery.

Zebregs&Roëll has a wealth of wonderful pieces, including 17th century inlaid ebony furniture, Japanese lacquer work, Chinese export pieces, Indonesian paintings and colonial chests, each one of museum quality. These are showcased in a contemporary, eclectic setting which serves to emphasise the versatility of antiques in a range of interiors.

Alongside this collection Zebregs&Roëll also specializes in Wunderkammer objects and natural history. New in the Netherlands is the collection of Victorian taxidermy, often in a handmade display case or under glass. Owner Dick Zebregs extends a warm invitation to you to come by. This weekend he’ll be on hand to tell visitors the striking story behind each
